We decided to create a horizontal oriented academy guide rather than the tradition portrait style books!

4. LEARNER FRIENDLY ASTHETICS

Normal text books mostly use mono colour text, occasionally graphs and graphics. Our academy guides contain rich, soothing colours, graphics, hand-drawn illustrations and most importantly we have chosen a 3pt larger font size, so that learners do not get tired reading and absorbing the subject matter and can focus for much longer hours, ultimately learning more efficiently, effectively and faster.

5. COLOUR-CODING FOR PROGRAMMING CODE

When a learner is looking at programming code for example in a normal text book, usually it is very difficult to read and understand the concepts. We have chosen to implement colour-coding in our demonstrations, separating the different structures of code, so developers/programmers from beginner to advanced will appreciate this mostly because we are visually demonstrating constructs in the exactly the same way they would, in their development environments.

6. QUALITY IN MEDIUM DELIVERY

Digital and Print mediums quality MUST be the same. The quality of the material used in the print front cover, back cover and inner pages has been carefully chosen following market research done on normal text books today. A SILK GLOSS finish for the covers, and a SILK MATT finish for the inner pages. This allows the learner to appreciate and enjoy reading the content,without compromise, and also lends to the durability of the academy guides, outlasting normal text books of today. Digital is of 300dpi so it’s at 5K resolution.

7. LEVERAGED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

In Obi.Academy we have the combined experience of 55 years of education and branding. Dimitrios Zacharopoulos has personally written over 200 books and training manuals for companies over the past 35 years in different sectors and is both a technical and creative specialist. Leveraging that knowledge and combining it with the conceptualisation, branding and design acumen of Steve Van Vaerenewyck, we have come up with a wining formula for all our learning projects, courses, certifications and books.

8. PROFESSIONALLY STUDIO RECORDED AUDIO

In addition to our print and digital formats, we have also created professional audio format of our academy guides, recorded in sound studio for clean and accurate sound. We wanted to cater for all sorts of learning requirements and audio is a very important sensory advantage in learning. So our learners can, for example, read their print academy guide when concentrating on a desk, then when taking a break and sitting on their couch they can continue on on their digital copy on their tables and/or phones and if they feel like learning while on the go, they can take their audio version of their academy guide and listen in the car while they drive to and from work.
